Chapter 427 was designed to reduce duplication of effort and increase economies of scale thereby producing efficiencies that are of benefit to passengers as well as to the Florida Taxpayer. Putnam County Community Transportation Coordinator

Ride Solution began operations in 1986 as ARC Transit. Through the Coordination of human service transportation into a one-size fits all schedule, Ride Solution has created a general public service for the citizens of Putnam County. Public utilization of the service produces a 50% boost in productivity. What We Do

Ride Solution saves tax dollars by Coordinating governmental transporation services. In 1996, Ride Solution Coordinated all Putnam County Medicaid Non-Emergency Transportation. Putnam Medicaid transportation costs dropped from $ 925,000 in 1995 to $ 480,000 by 1997. Community Transportation Coordinators throughout the state have achieved similar savings for the taxpayer. Under Chapter 427 Florida Statutes, Coordinated Transportation has evolved over its thirty year history to become a national model for governmental efficiency. A University of Florida study documents $40 million per year in Medicaid transportation costs saved under Chapter 427. Florida's Coordinated system also recently received the Davis productivity award for best state agency, based on FSU's 2008 return on investment study, capturing an $ 8.35 return on every $ 1 spent through the Coordinated system.
